Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
Harvard has not yet revised its winter sports schedule to correspond to the college's calendar changes, Eric Cutler, assistant director of athletics and the sports schedule coordinator, said yesterday.
However, Cutler did list a few minor changes in the Harvard winter schedule for wrestling, squash and J.V. swimming. "Everything else is in limbo," he said.
Cutler said that officials from the colleges involved would be working on a new schedule. "It's very complex after a while; we're trying to jam everything in," he said. Cutler said no games would be scheduled during examination period. The new examination period affects basketball, hockey, skiing, indoor track and wrestling events already scheduled.
Cutler said rescheduling might be near completion by the middle of the week.
Last week Cutler said that the Athletic Department would attempt to play all league contests and cancel non-league events if necessary.
Mary Paget, coordinator of sports at Radcliffe, said yesterday that the Radcliffe sports schedule has not been badly disrupted by the calender revision.
She said Radcliffe would lose a return basketball engagement with Emerson during the extended vacation period. Paget also said she hoped a swimming meet with both the Brown men's and women's swimming teams scheduled for January 12 would be moved to the 19th.
Cutler said the following changes had been made:
*The Dartmough wrestling match, originally scheduled for January 12, has been moved to February 19 at 3 p.m.
*The squash team will meet Williams a week later than the scheduled January 9 contest.
*The tennis team will face Dartmouth on January 23 at 3 p.m. instead of January 12.
*The J.V.-Williston Academy swimming meet, scheduled for the new vacation period, has been canceled.
