Local Woman to Direct Somerville Holiday Inn

By A.m. Release

The new Holiday Inn located at 30 Washington Street, corner of Inner Belt Road, is scheduled to open January 1974. This ultra-modern 9 story Inn will offer 189 sleeping rooms, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool saunas, gourmet restaurant and lounge with nightly entertainment and beautifully decorated function space capable of seating 360 persons for business meetings or social activities. The Somerville location is one of 11 Holiday Inns in Massachusetts and New York owned and operated by Northeast Motel Operation, Inc. under a franchise agreement with Holiday Inns, Inc.

The announcement was recently made by Ralph W. Blum, Vice President of Northeast, that Mrs. Frances G. Fletcher will be Innkeeper of this new property.

In connection with Mrs. Fletcher's selection as key administrator of the Somerville Inn, Mr. Blum cited the fact that based on her most recent performance as Innkeeper of the Holiday Inn of Newton, Massachusetts, for the past 3 years, she has been ranked as one of the Top 100 Innkeepers in the Holiday Inn System's chain of 1590 locations.

Mrs. Fletcher was chosen for inclusion in the 1973/1974 edition of Who's Who of American Professional and Business Women, and is on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Hotel/Motel Association. She is the first woman to serve on the Board of Directors of the Newton/Needham Chamber of Commerce and is also a member of the Hotel Sales Managers Association, Altrusa International and the Advisory Board of the Community National Bank.
