The Eliot House Jimmy Fund Committee yesterday presented a check for $28,000 to the Boston Jimmy Fund for children's cancer research. The money was raised from the committee's third annual "Evening With Champions" held November 10 at Watson Rink.

The show takes the Committee six to eight months to prepare. "But basically it's not our work alone, it's that we get some of the top amateur skaters in North America to draw the crowds," Tom Parry, a co-chairman of the committee said. Over the last three years, the benefit, which was originated by John Misha Petkevich, has raised $68,000 for the charity.
