JV Booters Beat UConn, 3-2; Weiss Scores 2 Goals in Win

Frederick Weiss's two second-half goals carried Harvard's junior varsity soccer team to a 3-2 victory over visiting University of Connecticut's freshmen team yesterday. The win evened Coach Seamus Mlin's booters record at 1-1.

Connecticut scored the game's first goal about 8 minutes into the first half. The Crimson rounded out the first half scoring 20 minutes later when Arthur Faden converted a pass from Breck Walsh.

The second half-opened with three goals in the first ten minutes. Weiss scored his first goal at the two minute mark to give the Crimson the lead. Marx Abercussis received an assist on the play.

Connecticut's second tally came two minutes later. Scoring for the game was completed after ten more minutes when Weiss, assisted by Faden, dribbled around Connecticut's goalie and tapped the ball in.

Second string goalie. Amore Hollingsworth played the final 16 minutes for Harvard, as regular goalie Peter Zurkow was resting.

Harvard's opening loss was to Bobson College. The Crimson's next game is scheduled for Friday at Tufts University.
