"We will run them on the beaches, in the streets, on the highways, in the cities. We will not be defeated; we will not surrender. And we will win."
That's what an earnest, cigar-chomping member of the joint Harvard-Yale track team said last night of the Oxford-Cambridge meet as he prepared for the team's departure for England Tuesday night.
The team flies out of Boston and will arrive in London early Wednesday morning. It will motor and lorry to Cambridge where it's scheduled to stay until June 13. There is a chance that selected men will compete in the British University Championships on June 10 and 11 at Birmingham.
The team will then depart for London on June 14 for the Big Meet at the Crystal Palace. The Eli-Crimson men will face Birmingham on June 16. On June 19 the team travels to Dublin to compete in the Combined Irish Universities Championships. On the 21st or 22nd it will run against the University of Northern Ireland in Belfast.
