Skip Kistner will captain the 1972 Crimson golf team. Kistner-a junior from Needham-was elected by his teammates in a meeting held Tuesday afternoon.
Kistner will be captaining the team under Bob Harrison, who will succeed retiring Cooney Weiland next season as golf coach.
"Coach Harrison gives everyone a lot of encouragement. He should make my job very easy and enjoyable," Kistner said.
Next year's linksmen-with six returning lettermen and a fine crop of freshmen-should be able to improve vastly on this season's 7-6 record.
"I don't want to sound like the ordinary overly-optimistic new captain," Kistner said, "but I do have great hopes for next season."
