Golfers to Finish Season Against M.I.T. and Trinity

The Crimson golfers-accustomed by now to playing in the rain-were disappointed yesterday to find that their match against Williams and B.C. had been called due to dampness.

But the Harvard golfers may get a chance to play in some real muck this afternoon, as they face a couple of patsies- M.I.T. and Trinity-in the final match of the season.

Pumped Up

"Everyone will be pumped up for this one. We're 5-6 and can have a winning season by beating both teams today." Crimson captain Fred Sherman said last night. "And with the 50 per cent chance of rain, we'll really be psyched up."

Sherman said he is confident that the Crimson will be able to easily defeat both opponents in today's match at Concord Country Club. "If we don't beat these two teams. . .We're having a pretty mediocre season, but we're not that bad," he said.

Looking at the season records of the Trinity and M.I.T. linksmen, one would have to say that Sherman's confidence is warranted. Trinity stands at 2-11 on the year, while M.I.T. is 3-7.

And Trinity will be at an added disadvantage, since the Bantams are missing their number-one man, sophomore David Heinlein. "He is far better than our other players," Trinity coach Harry Winslow said. "His absence just kind of takes the heart out of our kids."

"We don't have much of a team. Harvard's probably quite a bit out of our class, but we may be able to come close to M.I.T.," Winslow said.

Harvard faced M.I.T. in the Greater Bostons earlier this spring. Harvard won the tourney, and the Engineers didn't even have the required five men for an official team score.

"They started with seven guys, but three of them got mad at the way they were playing and didn't finish," Sherman said.
