Strong performances in almost every area were the hallmark of a Harvard track team's impressive 1051/2-491/2win over a weak Dartmouth squad Saturday in Hanover.

The Crimson sprint squad, coming off a disappointing performance in the Penn relays, won every point available to them. Harvard also swept the triple jump and the mile, and received all but one-half point in the high jump.

"Overall, as could have been expected, Dartmouth didn't have the strength to give us trouble," said head coach Bill McCurdy. "When the sprint relay team showed up. I stopped worrying about Dartmouth."

The sprinters had hoped to qualify for the 440 sprint relay finals in the Penn competition which were also held Saturday. However, their time of 43.3 seconds, which was a full second slower than their meet-record performance against Dartmouth, was short of the qualifying mark.

Harvard's Ed Dugger coupled a strong performance in the 440 yard intermediate hurdles with a 48.0 leg in the 440

relay. He nipped Dartmouth's Jon Yeager in the hurdles. Both were clocked at 54.7, a Dartmouth record. The Indians tok the mile relay with a time of 3:24.8, 4 second ahead of Harvard.

In the 120-yard run, Walter Johnson bested Yeager by 8 seconds. Johnson was timed at 14.7. In the Harvard sweep of the mile run, John Quirk edged Tom Spengler with Tom New taking third place. Quirk was timed at 4:15.5, Spengler at 4:15.7. McCurdy said he was particularly pleased with Spengler's recovery from a knee injury.

Harvard took the freshman meet 951/2-581/2.

The CRIMSON decathlon team widened its lead on the Pomeroy Tiddly Winks Squad yesterday with a 23-2 victory in the 200 meter crocket event. "That game really sends me." red-ball Deac Dake said after the match.
