The Radcliffe tennis team will be going after its first victory today in winter competition against a strong Colby College team in Waterville, Maine. In its only other competition, Radcliffe tied Wellesley.
The 'Cliffe will be represented by the numbers one and two singles. Sarah Stearns and Meg Morgan, who will also team for the number one doubles match.
The number three singles players, Jill Robertson, and Ingrid Sarapuu, will team for the number two doubles match. Maureen Crane and Ginny Hodgdon will be the number three doubles team.
Radcliffe coach, Jean Evans, said that her players have shown marked improvement and should continue to improve during the season. The three freshmen, Jill Robertson, Maureen Crane, and Ingrid Sarapuu, should provide a base from which teams can develop during the next four years.
Evans said that this is the first year that Radcliffe has been able to have winter tennis. Because of a prior lack of interest Radcliffe has in the past only had spring competitors among other schools.
