Five Booters Gain Spots on All-Ivy Team

The Harvard soccer team has placed four men on the first string and a fifth man on the second string of the Coaches' All-Ivy soccer team.

"I was kind of pleased about the whole thing." soccer coach Bruce Munro said yesterday. "That's the best we've done in a long time. But I was disappointed that fullback Rick Scott wasn't mentioned."

Among the Harvard winners were forward Phil Kydes and fullback Chris Wilmot, both of whom were unanimous choices.

Also on the first team were forwards Felix Adedeji and Chris Papagianis. A sophomore. Adedeji set a new league scoring record this year with 13 points.

Crimson goalie Shep Messing was chosen for the second team, and lost out to first-string goalie Ken Pasternak of Yale by only one vote.

Penn also placed five men on the two squads. Forward Stan Startzell was the only Quaker picked for the first team. He missed a unanimous decision by one vote.

The Quaker contingent also included forward Larry Houston and backs Bill Straub, Tom Liebermann and Don Ries, all on the second team.

Cornell had a pair of first team choices--forward Victor Huerta and sophomore back Bill Murray--and three second team selections--forwards Frederico Rojas and Chris Agoliati and back Matt Mauro.

Besides Kydes and Wilmot, only Brown's Jim Ohaus was a unanimous choice for a first team berth. A senior back, he was joined on the squad by fellow Bruin Chip Young. Young is the only senior currently in the league to have made the team three years in a row.

Rounding out the first team is Dart-mouth back Rich Gifford. Big Green's only representative on either squad.

Columbia failed to place a man on the first team, but landed sophomore forward Pete Vasudhara and back Seth Low on the second team. Princeton failed to place a man on either team.
