Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
The Ananda Marga Yoga Society has collected 2500 names of Harvard and Radcliffe students who are willing to donate the price of one meal for relief of East Pakistani refugees encamped in India.
Craig Arunde '73, director of the campaign, said yesterday that if the Committee on Houses and Undergraduate Life (CHUL) approves the fast, it will be held sometime in late November.
The money collected from the food rebates of the one meal would be sent to the Ananda Marga Yoga Universal Relief team in India which is operating several distribution centers and camps for Pakistanies in West Bengal.
Arunde estimated that "the drive will probably collect about $2000, but the figure could reach $5000 depending on whether the rebate for each meal is 60 cents or $2."
