Grady Sparks 'Crime

By Grady M. Bolding

Grady M. Bolding dropped a two-point conversion pass with one minute left to enable the Crimson to dump the Dally Pennsylvanian, 23-2, Saturday morning on the astroturf at Franklin Field.

We were worried about beating them, 24-2, so we decided to go for two points and throw to Grady in an effort not to get the points," the Crimson's Deac Dake explained afterwards. "Grady always comes through."

Penn varsity coach Harry Gramble also had words of praise for the visitors. "I liked that last touchdown of theirs," he said. "I saw (Eric) Pope fade back and loss a backfield pass to Bolding, and I thought the DP had him. Then Bolding threw that bomb to (Evan) Thomas. I may use that myself some day."

The defeat was especially discouraging for the Pennsylvanian's Jeff Rothbard. "I've been looking forward to kicking ass on these guys ever since March when they didn't give me their votes for the All-Ivy Sportswriting Team."
