The Radcliffe field hockey team flew past Jackson, 4-0. Thursday on the fast turn of the Radcliffe quad. The win was their first of the year.
Before a large vocal crowd, the 'Cliffe showed the speed and spirit missing in Tuesday's loss at Mt. Holyoke, Sally Foster '73 starred at right inner, scoring all three of Radcliffe's first half goals. For the second goal. Foster cluded four Jackson defensewomen and sent a tricky reverse stick shot streaking past the Jackson goalie.
Most of the game was played on Radcliffe's attacking half of the field as a tight defense stopped the Jackson forwards from getting off a single shot on goal.
The Radcliffe offense continued to dominate play in the second half. On a fast break downfield. Foster drew Jackson's goalie out, and Capt. Mary Lightbody '74 shoved the ball into the net for the only tally of the half.
