To the Crimson Sports Editor:

The Harvard football problem of 1971 has been the lack of great speed in the defensive secondary. Our secondary will become a great secondary when coach Restic begins to play Rod Foster both ways. It was published in a Dallas. Texas newspaper that three head coaches of the NFL plan to draft Foster as a defensive safety.

Your next Crimson article should demand that Foster be used at defensive safety, giving us the very great speed we need. On defense. Foster should perform every single play. including punt and kickoff returns. Foster should hold the ball on extra points because he can run or pass with the fake place kick. He also should still be the regular punter for the Crimson.

On offense, Foster is obviously Restic's starting quarterback. He is an excellent signal caller and--when under pressure--very often a good passer and runner. Sincerely,   John Tangen '52.
