Eastern Airlines has proposed a cut in air shuttle prices to and from New York. In a request now a waiting approval from the Civil Aeronautics Board, the airline suggests reduced prices after February 1 for students, military personnel and families traveling at nonpeak hours.
The request to the CAB proposed the air fare change only until July 31, 1971, but Eastern Airlines officials said that they would know long before that if the change would be permanent.

Under the new plan, students will get a guaranteed seat on a plane to Newark or LaGuardia for $13. Current Eastern shuttle fare for students with a youth fare card is $17, three-fourths of the $26 regular fare.
The cut in prices will be good for all times except Fridays and Sundays from 2:55 p.m. to 7:55 p.m. and all day on February 11 and 15, May 31 and July 5. Students traveling at these times will pay the current $17 fare.
