Yale Cancels J. V. Soccer

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yale's coed now, but the change may have been at the expense of the junior varsity soccer team.

The Elis, who last won an Ivy soccer title in 1956, have cancelled the junior varsity schedule for this Fall because of a lack of players.

The junior varsity schedule is played by members of the varsity who are used sparsely in varsity games, but since only 24 men are on the squad, and since injuries must be expected, Yale officials felt there was not sufficient depth to play both schedules.

Harvard Hit

There were five games planned for this season, including a November 20 contest against Harvard in Cambridge.

Yale's release did not link the cancellation of the season with the new policy of admitting women.
