Superior Court Justice Robert Sullivan dismissed charges on Monday against 105 persons accused of criminal trespass in connection with the April, 1969 takeover of University Hall.
Last November, Sullivan decided to continue the cases without a finding for six months. His ruling stopped proceedings against the defendants for this period with the reservation that proceedings would resume for a defendant arrested for another offense during that time. If he wanted to, the judge could have ruled this week to extend the continuance period or to resume the trial.
Because he decided to dismiss the charges, no mention of the defendants' arrest will remain on police records.
