Thayer North Wins Yard's Swim Meet

Thayer North combined victories in the medley relay and 100-yd freestyle events with places in all the other races to win he freshman intramural swimming meet last night at the IAB.

Thayer North finished with 35 points, two ahead of Massachusetts-Straus D, the Yard's swimming champion for the past two wears. Massachusetts-Straus made a bid to win the meet with a victory in the last race-the freestyle relay, but a faster Holworthy four forced it to settle for second in the race and in the meet.

Terry Coleman powered Thayer North to its victory with an anchor leg in the thedley relay and a win in the 100-free. Matthews North's John Carpenter nailed down victories in the 50-free and 50-breast. Massachusetts' Bob Donor captured first in the backstroke, and Matthews North's Bob Grillo won the butterfly.
