Top-Ranked St. Louis Defeats Hartwick, 1-0

St. Louis University's top-ranked soccer team knocked off Hartwick, 1-0, Thursday to move into the NCAA national championship match today against UCLA.

Hartwick, previously undefeated and rated second in the nation, had beaten Harvard, 4-3, on November 29 to advance to the national championships hosted by the University of Southern Illinois.

The St. Louis goal came late in the fourth period and was set up by al Trost-who last year scored the goal that beat the Harvard booters in the nationals and helped St. Louis to the national title.

UCLA topped Howard University, 4-3, to earn its spot in the finals.
