Swordsmen Ron Winfield, Larry Cetrulo, and Geza Tatrallyay have all been named to the All-Ivy first squad. This is the first time that Harvard has had three men chosen All-Ivy.
Of the three, only sabreman Winfield was All-Ivy last year. As the Crimson captain this winter, he has consistently won and was a major factor in Harvard's second-place finish. Last year, coach Edo Marion's team was sixth.
Cetrulo, a sophomore, who also competes in sabre, compiled a record of 30-4, the best on the team. Cetrulo will represent Harvard in the sabre competition in the NCAA's next week in North Carolina.
Tatrallyay, another sophomore, was named to the epee team and will also represent Harvard in the NCAA's, along with Cetrulo and Tom Keller, who will fence in the foil competition. All of Harvard's representatives to the Nationals this year are sophomores who should provide a solid base for a strong fencing team in the future.
