Harvard baseball coach Loyal Park was elected secretary-treasurer of the newly-formed New England Baseball Coaches Association at the group's organizational meeting Sunday at the Harvard Varsity Club.

Coach Park said the group's primary goals are to stimulate interest in college baseball in New England, to get to know the other coaches better, and to plan and hold baseball clinics. Other objectives are to discuss the rules regularly, and to give New England better college baseball in the future.

At Sunday's meeting, the coaches decided to convene each year in March, at the NCAA District Playoffs later in the spring, and at the NCAA Coaches Convention in January.

Springfield's Archie Allen was named the association president for this year, and Larry Panciera of the University of Connecticut was elected vice-president. Next year, Coach Park will automatically move up from secretary-treasurer to vice-president, and Panciera will become the association's new president.
