Petitions protesting the proposed elimination of youth fare airline tickets have gathered over 1100 signatures since Wednesday night, when they were posted in all Harvard Houses by two students.
Richard A. Frank '70 and Dennis S. Krauss '70 said yesterday that they plan to send the petitions to both the Civil Aeronautics Board before its meeting later this month and to Rep. Arnold Olsen (D.-Mont.) who called the present youth fare system "a bright spot in a world that generally discriminates against young people."
Petitions will also be posted at Radcliffe, Frank said.
"We do not think that we should bear extreme social and financial burdens because the petitioning bus companies are unequal to the task of providing service as attractive and beneficial as have the airlines," the petition read.
