Quincy Finishes Unbeaten Season Despite Dunster's Inspired Effort

Quincy House crushed Dunster, 66-6, yesterday to complete its second straight undefeated touch football season. In tackle football. Eliot and Kirkland remained undefeated, while Lowell edged Dunster, 8-3, for its second win.

Quincy once again combined an alert defense with an explosive offense to roll up a 47-0 lead at halftime, and then coasted to its final win of the season in a virtual warmup for the Yale game.

The game was marked by unusual plays. Luther Clark intercepted a long pass by Dunster's Tom Zakrzewski, then threw it back to Zakrzewski, who tossed a long incompletion. Earlier, after catching a Quincy kickoff, Zakrzewski lateraled the ball behind him 15 feet high, but Fernando. Gonzalez intercepted it and ran to the one-yard line. "Quincy was just lucky today," Zakrzewski explained.

Kirkland downed Adams, 6-9 in a tackle contest, but Adams's Dan Levin predicted a bright future. "We've got a new quarterback, and we're going to win our last three: even against Eliot." he said. Adams is now 0-4.

Eliot's fourth win without a loss was at the expense of Leverett, 19-6. The Jumbos put together two long drives and a pass interception for their points, "Eliot's the team to beat." said Walt Morrissey of Winthrop.

Winthrop led by the running of former Milton great Billy Hobbs, topped winless Quincy, 6-0 despite playing a mediocre game, "We were more disorganized than ever." Ben Franklin of Quincy pointed out.

Despite having only two cheerleaders. Lowell overcame a 3-0 Dunster lead to win 8-3, "We're very, very happy," said Mike Fox, who along with Russ Dozier and George Sheppard got Lowell's safety.
