Boston Gas Workers Picket Boss at Fogg

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Eight Boston Gas Company employees carried picket signs in front of the Fogg Art Museum yesterday evening to protest the presence of Eli Goldston '42, chairman of the board of Boston Gas. Goldston was giving a reception for the mayor of Kyoto, Japan, which is Boston's sister-city.

The workers, members of United Mine Workers of America local 12003, District 50, are on strike against the company, and were there, one picket said "to embarrass Mr. Goldston."

When asked about the pickets, Mr. Goldston laughed and said. "It's just part of the process by which labor and management debate things out."

The pickets arrived at 5 p. m. Cambridge police came at 5:45, conferred with the pickets for a few minutes, and then left.
