Dean's Advice Makes Ann Landers Column

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An unidentified Harvard dean has advised Ann Landers that "colleges are not reform schools."

The letter was in response to Concerned Dad, who wrote in that today's colleges and universities are "nothing more than open brothels supported by taxpayers."

The dean told Concerned Dad that if his son didn't know how to stay sober, drive safely, and respect girls, he should be brought home.

"Colleges are supposed to educate, not serve as custodian institutions for students. If you and your wife failed to do your job as parents, don't expect us to salvage him," he said.

Mrs. Landers' comment was "Dear Dean: Amen, brother, amen."
