Harvard students with Sunday dates may find themselves lost in the depths of the MBTA on January 5 and 12.
Portions of track between Andrew and Kendall will be closed for repairs on both Sundays, and shuttle service on a single track will be used to ferry passengers through the affected areas. Similar special shuttles have been run on Sundays earlier this month, and passengers on these days have been delayed by the arrangement.
Shuttle will run between Kendall and South Station on January 5, with regular service beyond these points. The January 12 shuttle will operate between Andrew and South Station.
The repairs will cause more delays, according to MBTA officials. "It all depends on the running time of the special train," said Donald B. Eagles, MBTA Assistant Director for Public Information, "We can't maintain the headway that we normally do, but we try to maintain our normal schedule."
