The Harvard sailing team moved into the finals of the New England Intercollegiate Dinghy Championship at the Tufts Yacht Club last weekend by out-tacking the Coast Guard Academy 46-45.

Harvard captain Tony Parker and his crew Matt Dobrow tallied 123 points in their four A-division races to pace the Crimson victory. In the B division -- weighted equally in the final scoring with the A division -- skippers Jim Harper and Jim Laughton teamed with Paul Berger to top the five other colleges and clinch the win.

The finals of the Dinghy Championships will be held at M.I.T. May 13 and 14.

In other sailing over the weekend, Radcliffe lost by one point to M.I.T. on the Charles and another Harvard squad dropped a seven point decision to the same school in New Bedford. 'Cliffe captain Jane Chalmers and her crew Sue Kotlier managed 37 points in the 69-68 loss.

Next weekend, Radcliffe sails her last regatta -- the M.I.T. Invitational -- while Harvard competes for the Ivy League Trophy at Yale.
