A serving lady can dress up in the morning, wear her best perfume, serve eggs benedict, but what does the Harvard student notice first -- right, her coffee.
And to make sure that first impression is the right one, Harvard food services has invited two coffee-brewing experts to teach the University's cooks and serving ladies how to make a better urn of coffee.
Robert C. Thomas and John H. Fish, of the Pan-American Coffee Bureau in New York, will lecture to a packed hall of food service employees at 11 a.m. this Tuesday in Burr Hall.
They will demonstrate good coffee-brewing techniques, show a color film on coffee, and then answer questions from the audience.
It's all part of the Spring refresher course that the food services has run for its employees for the past five years. In addition to the coffee demonstration, there will be a session on lamb-cutting and serving, and another on physical safety and health for dining hall employees.
