Harvard and Radcliffe students yesterday voted overwhelmingly to admit three Cliffies to voting seats on what was formerly the Harvard Policy Committee. The group will now become the Harvard-Radcliffe Policy Committee.
Although only 40 per cent of the two colleges voted, 71 per cent of the Harvard voters favored admitting Cliffies. At Radcliffie the vote was almost unanimous, according to Michael E. Abram '66. The amendment to the HPC constitution required a separate majority from each college for passage.
Two Other Delegates
The three Cliffies will also be joined by two other Radcliffe delegates--the dean of the college and the president of the Radcliffe Government association. The latter has no vote.
According to Abram, the first meeting of the new committee will be held next week. Before then, one 'Cliffe delegate will be selected from each of the three Radcliffe houses. Selection will be made by the master and dean of each house, subject to the approval of the RGA, he added.
The Radcliffe members will bring the total membership of the HRPC to 20. The HPC formerly consisted of 12 Harvard undergraduates, Dean Monro, and three rotating faculty members, selected by the committee itself.
