It only took a little more than seven minutes last night for Cassius Clay to dispose of Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams by a technical knockout at the Astrodome in Houston. Clay floored the listless 33-year-old challenger four times before the referee stopped the fight after 1:08 of the third round.
"I was extra-fast tonight," Clay said later. He was so fast that the Cat hardly laid a paw on him. "I used the Ali Shuffle before each knock-down, and it really confused him," the heavyweight champ said.
A barrage of rights and lefts in the second round did the damage. Williams was saved by the bell the third time he went down and had time for one last meow before Clay finally put him away.
