HUC Discusses Lamont Proposal

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard Undergraduate Council last night voted down a proposal that it recommend the admittance of females to Lamont Library on a limited basis.

The proposed recommendation would have asked that women be allowed to use the Lamont facilities only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. They would not be allowed in the library on Sundays or during reading and exam periods.

Last night's meeting was the last meeting of the present HUC. A new council will be elected shortly and will hold its first meeting on February 23.
