The names of all but thirty members of the Class of 1969 are now sealed in the records on the ninth floor of Holyoke Center.
Fred L. Glimp '50, dean of Admissions and financial aid, said that as of yesterday his office had received 1170 affirmative replies from those to whom acceptance notices has been sent. He expects this figure to jump to 1180 when the still outstanding replies arrive.
Only fifteen places will remain to be filled from the waiting list, since five probably be accepted from a pool of 30 "undecided cases".
Champ explained that they usually expect to take 40 people from the waiting list but this year there was "no trouble in delivering a full 1200."
The statistical profile of the entering Class has not yet been drawn, but Glimp noted that over 400 members will be holding Harvard College scholarships.
The admissions procedure for next year will remain fundamentally unaltered. The traditional system of personal evluations is not flawless, Glimp said, "but there's always going to be pain when you have to turn down good boys."
