Business School Gets New Chair

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A new chair at the Business School will be named in honor of Donald K. David, Dean of the School from 1942 to 1955. Kenneth R. Andrews, professor of Business Administration, will be the first to hold the professorship, to be maintained by a $500,000 fund contributed by friends of David.

At the Business School, David was one of the initiators of the case method of teaching business administration. He began advanced management programs for business and trade union executives and enlarged the School's research and doetoral programs.

Director and Trustee

David is presently a director of several companies, including the Ford Motor Company, the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company, Pan American World Airways, and Sinclair Oil Corporation. He is a trustee of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Andrews, a specialist in business policy and administrative practices, has been teaching at the Business School since 1947. He was one of David's close administrative aides.
