Reischel Named An Unsung Hero

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Harvard guard Chuck Reischel received the annual Unsung Hero Award of the Tobacco Table at a banquet last night.

Reischel won the award in voting by sportswriters last month. The award goes annually to a New England college football player who is both outstanding and unrecognized.

Reischel, the smallest man in Harvard's starting line at 5-10 and 135 pounds, played more minutes than any other member of the team as Harvard compiled a 6-3 record last fall.

Head coach John Yovicals credited Reischel with carrying out 34 per cent of his blocking assignments, more than anyone else on the squad, according to game films.

The Harvard guard's chief competition in the voting came from Pete Cummings, the Yale fullback who played second string behind all-Ivy Chuck Mercein after leading the team in rushing in 1962.
