Bunting Suggests Board Expansion

President Bunting has proposed that two more student members be added to the College Judicial Board, the highest Radcliffe court. This would give the board an equal number of student and administration members for the first time in its three-year history. It currently includes Mrs. Bunting, the three Radcliffe deans, the president of RGA, and the president of the Board of Hall. Only the latter two are students.

Mrs. Bunting would add a representative for each of the three Radcliffe Houses to replace the president of the Board of Hall, since that office will be eliminated if RGA approves a proposed amendment, which will almost definitely pass, will substitute three House judicial committees in place of the Board of Hall.

Mrs. Bunting said last night that she was not concerned about a possible split between students and administration on the board. "We never take formal votes on matters, rather we try to reach a consensus," she stated. The board has always reached unanimous agreement on the two or three cases it has tried each year, she added.

The Judicial Board hears cases of serious infraction of college rules.

At the suggestion of Mrs. Bunting, Catherine D. Williston, associate dean of Radcliffe, proposed the change at Thursday's RGA meeting. Miss Williston said that when the projected fourth House is completed, an additional representative would probably be added to the board
