Professors Appointed Anthro., Astro. Heads

Acting chairmen of the Anthropology and Astronomy Departments for the academic year 1964-65 have been appointed, President Pusey told a Faculty meeting Tuesday.

William W. Howells '30, professor of Anthropology, will act in place of Douglas L. Oliver '35, professor of Anthropology, while Charles A. Whitney, associate professor of Astronomy, will serve for William Liller '48, Robert Wheeler Willson Professor of Applied Astronomy.

Pusey also announced that James Shively, now teaching at Stanford, will be Acting Chairman of the Committee on East Asian Studies next year.
