Aggrey Awori, the Harvard track star from Uganda, has been appointed to direct the African Student Service, which furnishes financial support to 1500 African students in the United States.
Founded in 1962, the service has raised over $100,000 worth of scholarships. In addition, it places students in summer and part-time jobs and helps them find living accommodations. The group's offices are at 11 Garden St.
