Mess in Mem Hall

The Saturday morning sectioning meeting has become another monster in the University's Freshman Week array. Happily, this meeting has a worthwhile purpose: to assign students to sections in some elementary languages and mathematics courses which have no lectures.

However, we wonder why instructors from Government 1, Humanities 2 and 5, Natural Sciences 2, and Social Sciences 4, must be forced into Memorial Hall or similar congeries. Like Economics 1 and other elementary General Education courses, their courses could be sectioned at the first meetings, without a needless loss of time and adrenaline.
