Mrs. Barbara M. Solomon '40, director of the Women's Archives and the Radcliffe Seminars, will succeed Mrs. Katherine O. Elliott as dean of Radcliffe's East House.
Mrs. Solomon graduated magna cum laude in Greek History and Literature and later received her Ph.D. from Radcliffe in the History of American Civilization. She has taught at Wheelock College and came to Radcliffe in 1959 to head the Women's Archives and the Radcliffe seminar program for adult women.
She has written two books, Ancestors and Immigrants and Pioneers in Service and is currently editing Travels in New York and New England, the diary of Timothy Dwight, former president of Yale University.
