In the concrete caverns of Johannesburg the other Harvard stands. With a 20-foot long golden sign it proclaims itself--South Africa's oldest and largest commercial and secretarial school. Harvard in Johannesburg is more reputable and restrained than its arch-rival Yale. That secretarial school, as one might expect, has a gaudy red neon sign which hawks its wares above Phil Morkel's furniture and Bethlehem's home appliances. The third member of the Big Three, nearby Princeton College, is currently embarked on a major building program.
Recently, Harvard College has also expanded. As its advertisement (reprinted in the CRIMSON yesterday) notes, Harvard has added regular high school courses. The school continues to give its usual secretarial courses to girls only on a separate floor." This arrangement might possibly solve some of our problems too.
