To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
We are writing to protest the timing of the recent announcement of the ten per cent room rent increase. Just a few weeks ago we chose several rooms to apply for; their price was a crucial factor in making this decision. Now many of us will be charged more than we would have accepted as our maximum rent. Although others of us might have applied for the same rooms anyway, we still should have had the right to decide what rent we would be willing to pay. We believe that University Administration officials should be more considerate in these matters, and that if such an increase is proposed in the budget, its possibility should be indicated before rooms are applied for.
