Columbia wrestlers scored four pins in stunning the Harvard varsity 27-12 Saturday in the IAB.
Beautifully executed pins in the middle weights provided the day's top excitement. At 147, Harvard's Jim Gaffney was wrestling a pretty even match with John McMullen when the Columbian gained a sudden take down and pin at 5:32.
Seconds later, Crimson fans were stunned to see Bob Kolodney pinned by Dick Evans before a minute had elapsed. Fred Pereira turned in a fine job for the Crimson at 167, though, putting a pin on Norman Nelso at 5:01. Harvard captain George Doub was also successful in his match at 130.
