Crimson Riflers Hold 5-4 Record

With a 5-4 record in dual meet competition, the varsity rifle team is enjoying its best season in three years.

The success of the squad this year is somewhat phenomenal because the team is operating without a home range. Ever since the old rifle range was torn down the squad has been deprived of practice facilities.

The varsity topped the 500 mark last Friday with a win over Wentworth Institute by a 1397-1334 margin. In addition to an earlier win over Wentworth, the varsity has also registered triumphs over B.C., B.U., and the Stockbridge School at the University of Massachusetts.

Jim Andrews, with an average of 281, and Dick Hoefer, with 277, are the top scorers to date on the squad. The highest possible individual score is 300.

In achieving 1397 out of 1,500 possible points in the Wentworth match, the varsity registered its best team effort of the season. The scores of the five highest men on the squad are added to compute team totals in a match.
