The varsity football team postponed an attack on the turkeys long enough to go through a two hour drill in miserable weather yesterday morning.
Coach John Yovicsin, looking haggard and hampered by hoarseness, spent most of the time on light team work, emphasizing pass defense and offense and defensive kicking plays.
Worried by Jim Dunda's ability to puncture Harvard's pass defenses almost at will last Saturday, Yovicsin took his boys outside on a muddy and rain drenched field to brush up defensive maneuvers.
Punt and kick-off receiving plays were given attention, and downfield blocking assignments were checked.
End Tom Stephenson, who practiced for the first time this week on Wednesday, was suited up yesterday, but his pronounced limp indicated he would not be in shape to see much action Saturday. Halfback Scott Harshbarger had a fairly good session, however, and Yovicsin is hopeful he will be ready in time. Harshbarger reinjured his troublesome knee against Brown.
Today's schedule includes a very light drill at 5 p.m. and an appearance at the rally. The team will then adjourn to a secluded motel to ensure an undisturbed night of sleep before the game.
