Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
Radcliffe girls, who are living in the off campus houses which must be torn down to make way for the fourth House, will not be forced to move back into the brick dorms when the construction project begins.
The College has not yet decided exactly what will be done to house those students displaced by construction. Suggestions include renting some additional houses or temporarily converting the apartment house across from the Graduate Center into a dormitory for undergraduates.
Juniors and seniors apparently have nothing to worry about since the project is not scheduled to begin before June 1964. At the present time Radcliffe has neither the money for the pledges to cover the project. If additional funds become available, the construction date might well be moved ahead.
The College's most recent acquisition, 124 Walker St., will not be converted into a residence for faculty associates until after the fourth House is completed.
