Biology Plan Attempts Individual Instruction

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Another step will be taken in the direction of "personalized education" next fall when the Biology Department begins an experiment in individual instruction for a selected group of sophomores and juniors.

The experiment, which is entirely voluntary and non-credit, is expected to take the form of guided reading and instruction with faculty members at biweekly meetings. Only 20 to 25 students in the Department's new "concentration plan 2" will be eligible.

Among the 12 faculty members who have already agreed to participate are professors George Wald, Robert P. Levine, John G. Torrey, and possibly Matthew A. Meselson and William R. Sistrom '48.
