Kenneth T. Bainbridge, a professor of Physics known for his research on isotopes and radioactivity, has been appointed the first George Yasmer Leverett Professor of Physics.
The Leverett Chair was created in 1958, to be held by either a physicist or a mathematician, but has remained vacant until this week.
