President-emeritus James B. Conant '14 will undertake in September his fourth major study of American education. The two-year study of the education of American teachers will be financed by a $300,000 grant from the Carnegie Institute.

The report will outline minimum standards for the education of teachers as established by local, regional, and state authorities, and will cover institutions training teachers for kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Conant's other influential reports have deal, with American high schools and junior high schools.
