ACTOR COMMITS SUICIDE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Poets' Theatre production of "The Hammer of the Mountain" completed a five-day run Saturday at Loeb Drama Center despite the suicide death of its lead actor the day before opening night.

The death of Richard Bogan, 27, was reported by Boston Police to the Theatre group last Wednesday. Bogan reportedly was treated for an overdose of sleeping pills, released from Massachusetts General Hospital, and then found dead the next days from other causes.

Stephen A. Aaron '57, assistant director of the Loeb Drama Center and director of "Hammer," learned Bogan's part immediately and took over his role for the entire run of the show.
