The Yardling football squad opened its season on a festive note yesterday, mauling Tufts 21-6.

George Spoto, a quarterback from Tampa, Fla., kept his boys moving well against spirited but hopelessly overpowered opponents. Spoto scored the first Crimson TD on a quarterback sneak up the middle, and passed to Curt Lemkau for another.

Ron Cloutier crashed through for the other tally.
